Description
White birch forests near the Shinshu Watch Studio in Nagano provide the design inspiration for this Grand Seiko. Its finely textured, pale dial recalls the trees’ white trunks and the depth of the woodland. The restrained colour allows the relief pattern to take prominence, while the blue seconds hand introduces a measured contrast. Its continuous glide complements the dial’s quiet character.
Spring Drive calibre 9RB2 gives this natural inspiration a distinctive technical foundation. U.F.A. stands for “Ultra Fine Accuracy”, identifying a rated accuracy of ±20 seconds per year. A mainspring supplies the energy, while electronic regulation uses a quartz oscillator to control the timekeeping. The movement offers both automatic and manual winding, with approximately 72 hours of power reserve. A temperature-compensating circuit helps reduce the effect of temperature changes on accuracy.
The Ever-Brilliant Steel case and bracelet extend the watch’s bright appearance. This special stainless steel alloy combines a lustrous white tone with high corrosion resistance. The case measures 40 mm in diameter and 11.7 mm in thickness. The bracelet tapers towards a clasp that provides tool-free micro-adjustment in three 2 mm increments.
A raised, box-shaped sapphire crystal with an internal antireflective coating protects the dial. The screw-down exhibition case back reveals the movement, and the crown also screws down. Water resistance is rated to 10 bar. The woodland texture, bright steel and distinctive motion of Spring Drive give the watch a cohesive identity rooted in both landscape and engineering.
